If my point of view must be based on the article alone, my inclination would be for the governor to grant clemency to Doris D. However, I do have more questions and don’t think there is quite enough information presented in three paragraphs in order for me to make the best decision on this. For example, I would like to hear the governor’s perspectives. I would like to learn more about Doris D’s background and ensure the information provided in the article could be substantiated. I would also like to know if Doris D would be willing to agree to alternatives to serving her original prison sentence, such as serving the community, for instance, by telling her story publicly and perhaps inspiring young people to make better choices in life. Thus, while I strongly value and believe in the possibility of reform and progress, as well as social justice, I also value community service and the notion of giving back for the "greater good."
