1. The deepest part of the ocean is 35,813 feet deep.
This reads as a fact to me. It is listed with a specific indicator, that doesn't leave room for interpretation.
2. Smoking is bad for your health.
This reads as more of an opinion than a fact. There is room for interpretation in the statement. What is considered "bad" and what is considered "smoking". There is no specificity as to what type of smoking is being evaluated either.
3. 85 percent of all cases of lung cancer in the US are caused by smoking
This to me reads as a fact, it is giving a specific percentage, to a total population (all lung cancer cases) of a specific geographical demographic (US).
4. One out of every hundred American citizens is color blind.
This reads as a fact as well. However you could also look at this as a room for interpretation if you consider the word "citizens". This may change what the actual demographic is if you look at American Citizens VS American residents for example.
5. Two out of ten American citizens are boring.
This definitely reads as an opinion. What constitutes "boring"? The word boring can mean different things to different people, therefore it doesn't leave a clear overarching understanding of what IS boring.
